Shifter
White key 2. Shifts the pitch in semitones, with big steps at fourths, fifths and octaves. Feedback shifts again on every pass.
| Knob | Page 1 | Page 2 |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Shift: -12 to +12 semitones, one step per 3 detents; centre off (default 0, off) | Mix: the dry sound under the shifted one, a harmony |
| 2 | Feedback: the shifted sound spirals (default off) | Stereo: the right channel up to a semitone higher; SHIFT + turn in quarter semitones (default off) |
| 3 | Swoop: on the key press, the shift pushes up to 2 octaves further and falls back over 1 s (default off) | Band |
| 4 | Grain: the window the shifter reads in, 10 ms (glitchy) through 30 ms (the centre, the default) to 50 ms (smooth) | Level |
- Swoop: each press pushes the pitch further in the direction of the shift, up to 2 octaves, over 0.1 s, and lets it fall back over 1 s.
- Feedback sends the shifted output back in, so each pass shifts again: a fifth stacks into fifths.
- Two overlapping taps keep the pitch within about a cent of the interval, without wobble or buzz. The grain is how long each tap reads before it starts over.
- LEDs: the key is red; the shift and the grain go blue (down) through white (the centre) to orange (up), as every knob with a centre does, feedback and swoop blue to red.
