Delay

White key 12. Echoes in time with the tempo, with random events and shimmer; they keep ringing after you let go.

Knob Page 1 Page 2
1 Division: 1/8, 1/4T, 1/4, 1/2T, 1/4., 1/2, 1/2., 1 bar, 2 bars (default 1/4) Freeze: the input shut and the echoes held as they are, by degrees; no random events while frozen (default off)
2 Feedback (default 40%) Damping: in the middle none; right, every repeat darker (a high cut); left, every repeat thinner (a low cut)
3 Random: left of centre retrigger / reverse / pitch events, right octave-up shimmer with random pan, centre off (default off) Band: what goes in, right a low cut, left a high cut
4 Ducking: the echoes duck under what you play, back up when it stops (default off) Level: the echoes’ level, off at the bottom, then -36 dB to +12 dB (default 0 dB, at 3/4)
  • Tempo: the tempo: with a loop, its exact tempo, so the echoes stay on its beats; otherwise rounded to whole BPM. Limited to 50-300 BPM so 2 bars fit the 10 s buffer.
  • Random events are rolled on every 8th note; the knob’s distance from centre is the chance. The 8th notes are counted from the loop’s start. Without a loop, only the clock’s tempo is used, not MIDI Start / Song Position, so they’re counted from when the clock locked (or from power-on, or the last tap, without clock), not from the DAW’s beat 1. Echo spacing is unaffected.
  • Fixed stereo spread: the left echoes come 20 ms after their beat, the right ones 10 ms, which spreads them. The spread is only on what comes out, not fed back, so every repeat is as late as the first and the echoes stay on the beats, however long they ring.
  • LEDs: the key is green; division green (short) to light blue (long); random and damping blue through white (off) to orange, as every knob with a centre. On page 2, knob 4’s LED shows the echoes coming back (see Page 2).
